Fall in Love with
Our City
Born and raised in Chicago, we want to share some of our favorite places with you. If you're a foodie, exercise enthusiast, photographer, or you just want to see the sites, Chicago's got just the thing! See below for a combination of some of our favorite local haunts and fun stuff going on this weekend outside of our wedding-related activities.
BIKE/RUN the lakefront path
Check out one of our favorite parts of the city! Rent a bike and head south to Navy Pier, or go for a jog to swim or play volleyball at North Avenue Beach. If the weather is nice, there's no better place to be in Chicago than on the shore of Lake Michigan.
CHECK OUT THE riVEr WALK
In the heart of The Loop, the River Walk provides several great opportunities to sit and grab a drink as you watch boat traffic head up and down the Chicago River.
TAKE THE ARCHITECTURAL BOAT TOUR
For the architecturally inclined, head out on a boat tour to learn all about Chicago's most iconic buildings. Local Chicagoans can vouch that this is one tourist activity that is well worth it.
STROLL MILLENNIUM PARK
Right by our apartment, head for a walk around Millennium Park. Take a picture with the Bean, play a round of mini golf, or grab a drink at the outdoor tavern.
EAT IN THE WEST LOOP / FULTON MARKET
Grab lunch on Saturday in Chicago's most vibrant restaurant neighborhood. Whatever the cuisine, the West Loop and Fulton Market are sure to please. Some of our favorites include: Momotaro, Leńa Brava, Proxi, and Little Goat Diner.
VISIT THE MUSEUMS
Visit one of Chicago's several museums. From the Art Institute to the Field Museum, there's no shortage of great exhibits to explore. Be sure to check out our personal family favorite, the Museum of Science and Industry.
LAUGH AT SECOND CITY
Take in a show at one of the country's most famous comedy clubs, Second City. While we can't promise the shows will be funnier than the wedding toasts, this breeding ground for future SNL stars rarely dissappoints.
RUN the CHICAGO HALF MARATHON
If you're looking for a way to work off your post-wedding hangover, you're in luck! The Chicago Half Marathon is taking place on Sunday morning after the big day.
ROOT, ROOT, ROOT FOR THE CUBBIES!
The powers that be have blessed us with a subway series the weekend of our wedding. Check out the Cubs v. White Sox game after our brunch on Sunday at Guaranteed Rate Field. Go Cubs go!
